Brand Overview

Founded in 2006 by Derek Curry in Lafayette, Louisiana, Sneaker Politics has grown from a local sneaker store into a renowned brand with six locations across Louisiana and Texas, alongside a thriving e-commerce business. The brand is celebrated for its curated selection of exclusive sneakers and apparel, collaborating with top names like Nike, Adidas, and Reebok.

The Challenge

Sneaker Politics had recently launched a mobile app with Venn Apps, aiming to extend its strong community focus and family-like shopping experience to its e-commerce business.

Soon after the app's launch, an exciting opportunity emerged — the Super Bowl was coming to the brand’s home state of Louisiana. Sneaker Politics saw this as the perfect chance to engage the local community, delivering a personalised experience that connected the digital and physical shopping journey for their Louisiana-based customers.

"Our overall marketing goal was to create a truly personalised experience, so we knew an exclusive app homepage for the hundreds of thousands of visitors arriving for America’s biggest game was essential,"
Ben Bernal, E-Commerce Director at Sneaker Politics.

The Solution

To create a memorable experience, Sneaker Politics developed a custom app homepage that featured exclusive Super Bowl content and limited-edition products. The homepage also needed to facilitate in-store appointment bookings for their Super Bowl pop-up — a collaboration with Air Jordan to celebrate the Jordan brand's 40th anniversary.

Using the Venn Apps CMS, Sneaker Politics designed this custom homepage experience exclusively for users in New Orleans. By leveraging Shopify Tags, they ensured this content was visible only to those in the New Orleans area. The homepage also included an exclusive booking portal, allowing app customers to reserve their spot at the pop-up event.

Over 800 passionate Politics & Jordan fans secured their place at the exclusive event, a highly anticipated launch of the Air Jordan 1 High ‘85 — a throwback to the brand's first-ever sneaker. Fans were treated to a premium, white-glove shopping experience — complete with dedicated staff, personalised service, and a seamless booking journey powered by the app.

"By delivering a hyper-localised journey, we provided a special brand moment for our local customers and deepened our connection with the community," said Ben Bernal.

Results

The campaign was a resounding success, with Sneaker Politics engaging thousands of Super Bowl visitors through the localised app content. The seamless booking system ensured a smooth customer experience and enabled hundreds of local superfans to enjoy an elevated shopping experience. A perfect way to connect with the local community and celebrate a major sporting event in style.
